For the third year in a row, the McShane organization participated in the Chase Corporate Challenge that drew a record-breaking 27,037 entrants from 683 companies. All proceeds benefited Get IN Chicago, a non-profit whose mission is to identify, fund and rigorously evaluate evidence-based programs that lead to a reduction in violence for individuals and communities most affected by violence and poverty. Toys for Tots

Prior to the holiday season, members of Conor Commercial Real Estate donated toys in support of Toys for Tots.  Team members brought new, unwrapped toys to the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers (AIRE) Holiday Party where items were being collected for donation.  Led by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, the Toys for Tots Program secures toys for distribution as holiday gifts to less fortunate children in the community where the campaign is conducted.

 


A Safe Haven Foundation

Conor Commercial Real Estate’s team members participated in the 14th annual Thanks for Giving Canned/Packaged Food Drive hosted by the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers (AIRE).  All contributions were donated to the Safe Haven Foundation for Women and Children in Chicago, Illinois.

Conor Commercial and other members of The McShane Companies attended the 2014 NAIOP Chicago Awards for Excellence event in November 2014.  Proceeds from the firm and other table sponsors were collected by NAIOP and donated to Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.  NAIOP Chicago has raised over $150,000 throughout its partnership with this renowned children’s medical center.

 


Bright Pink

Conor Commercial Real Estate provided a generous donation to Bright Pink, a local Chicago organization supporting cancer awareness, through its ‘Jeans Friday’ initiative that took place in October 2014. Feed My Starving Children

The McShane organization hosted a charitable endeavor available for employee participation. At this event, children of our employees were also encouraged to participate. McShane’s team, comprised of 35 volunteers, packaged 80 boxes of food totaling 17,280 meals to feed underserved children in the Country of El Salvador. Make the Grade

Conor Commercial Real Estate participated in the annual Make the Grade project sponsored by The Rosemont Business Roundtable by donating a full complement of supplies for the upcoming school year to students attending the Orchard Place Elementary School in Des Plaines, Illinois. Twenty-seven students from the second grade class received backpacks and the full array of school supplies needed including art smocks, rulers, crayons, highlighters, folders, glue sticks and notebooks, among many other items.

Nearly 30 employees of the McShane organization participated in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge recently held in downtown Chicago. The 3.5-mile race served to benefit Get IN Chicago, an organization dedicated to identifying and supporting programs to reduce violence and make the City of Chicago a safer place to live and work. Conor Commercial and other members of The McShane Companies attended the 2013 NAIOP Chicago Awards for Excellence event in December. In 2013, NAIOP Chicago marked the completion of a long-term commitment with the hospital to raise $150,000.

 


Greater Chicago Food Depository

Members of Conor Commercial Real Estate and other McShane volunteers worked on the sorting and packaging of fresh ears of corn, boxing them for shipment and distribution to 400 Cook County food pantries. School Supply Drive

Through generous employee donations from three consecutive ‘Jeans Fridays’ in August 2013 and additional contributions from Conor Commercial employees and The McShane Companies, the McShane organization raised funds to purchase school supplies for 5th Grade students at Orchard Place Elementary School in Des Plaines, Illinois for the upcoming school year. Supplies donated to the local elementary school included backpacks, flash drives, notebooks, folders, writing utensils, among other items, to support the needs of 40 students.

Conor Commercial employees and other members of the McShane volunteer team worked on the labeling and sorting of small cans of fruit cocktail, boxing them for shipment and distribution to Cook County food pantries. During the McShane volunteer event, the group labeled and boxed 15,072 cans. McShane’s work that evening was a part of the larger distribution of food which the Food Depository provides each month to 650 member soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters. This 11,304 pound serving of fruit cocktail is just a small part of the 5.3 million pounds delivered monthly. The facility is responsible for sorting, packing and moving food to helpful centers, feeding the hungry and serving over 800,000 food-insecure people.
